Summersweet Garden Nursery (formerly known as Perennial Pleasures Nursery) is a family-run plant nursery, gift shop and English-style tea room, established in 1981, and located in East Hardwick, next to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.

The plant nursery, greenhouse and display gardens cover three acres of the sunny fields behind the family home, an 1840s brick house at the edge of the village. We grow more than 850 varieties of flowers, herbs and shrubs, specializing in heirloom, native and medicinal plants and have a special fondness for tall garden phlox.

Most of the plants are field-grown and proven hardy in our Zone 4 location. We believe in supporting the native ecosystem, and no chemical pesticides, and no neo-nicotinoids are used anywhere in the greenhouse or garden.

An eclectic gift shop offers garden tools, summer clothing, tea-related items, cards and much more, with an excellent selection of summer and garden hats for men and women. We avoid plastic and cheap imported items and focus on local, quality and natural materials.

A seasonal tea-room serves traditional English Cream Teas in the display garden or greenhouse. Reservations for tea are strongly recommended.

The nursery and gift shop are open from early May to mid-September, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. The Tea Garden is open from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., from early June to mid-September. Closed on Mondays and Tuesday. For schedule and holidays, see Calendar & Events.
